Re: Update Update
It's funny that you should mention Halo. One my first run-throughs, I did not pay a cent of attention to the story or any names in the first two titles. I think Bungie intentionally made it a SOOPER SHOOTAN GAEM to make sure people did not pay attention to the story because it's a crappy story.
I really enjoyed Fable. It wasn't a perfect game (that's why I don't play it now), but it was still very good and way too unknown.

The Eggplant is Ready!
just letting you all know that my wife and I (assisted by my youngest son) made a large batch of fried eggplant. If any of you would like to try some, send me a self-addressed, stamped envelope and I will enclose a few slices. Just be forewarned, however, by the time it gets to you, it might not be quite so fresh, especially to those of you overseas.

I would like to try these eggplants before I buy them. Think we can meet halfway for a test?OldsRecording wrote:just letting you all know that my wife and I (assisted by my youngest son) made a large batch of fried eggplant. Done and done! Two good-sized pans of eggplant parmesan, had one for dinner, the other is going in the freezer. Would you happen to be making the trip over to Rochester for DCA weekend? I think you mentioned that you marched, though I can't remember where...the elephant wrote:UPDATE:justinbarleben wrote:UPDATE: I visited the University of Buffalo yesterday. It is amazing. Re: Update Update
Update:
We had the first home game and I marched the pre-game show, but not half-time. Had a blast playing in the stands in a nice air conditioned indoor arena for probably the largest crowd I've ever performed for at over 11,000 folks. My neck and shoulders are on fire from the sousaphone (Conn 20K) and I should be in bed, but still a litte wound up from the game. I was able to keep up with all of the young undergrads but I'm gonna pay for it this weekend.
As far as the game went, well UND went Div. 1 this year and absolutely obliterated Texas A&M Kingsville so all in all I'd say they made a good first showing, but we'll see how the rest of the season goes.
Go Sioux!

My mom used to cook it and it smelt so good while it was cooking, but tasted like crap when it came time to eat it. Of course, it could have been that mom didn't know how to fry it right in the first place.

Re: Update Update
I have been frequenting the local Farmer's Market over the summer and have been getting some excellent eggplant, yellow squash and zucchini.
I dice all three into about 1" pieces along with 1 medium sized onion (Red or Vidalia) roughly chopped, also adding a good amount of minced garlic. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar and add crushed black pepper, kosher (or sea) salt, red pepper flake and a little italian seasoning. Bake in a roasting pan(s) at 450 degrees for about 30-45 minutes, stirring at 15 minutes (adding more EVOO or Balsamic if necessary).
The veggies are delicious hot, but make even better leftovers. Usually as a leftover I put the veggies in a pita with a little bit of roasted garlic hummus.
I highly recommed this method of cooking eggplant.

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Re: Update Update
Ground beef works for that as well. That's also a great way to use those freakishly large end-of-the-season zucchini.bloke wrote:We have an abundance of yellow squash, zucchini, okra, and eggplant from our 100' x 50' garden...corn earlier.
Not much else did very well...better next year...This was a half-hearted exercise.
We're cutting the eggplant in half, BAKING it, and putting spaghetti sauce and cheese on the open side. (' just "made it up"...tastes great!)

On the instructions for use for the clipper, it said 'If you cut too much, apply styptic powder to stop the bleeding'. Is that for the dog or my forearm?schlepporello wrote:They never are.OldsRecording wrote:I just clipped my dog's nails. She wasn't too happy about it.
