Any word on the West TX A&M jobs?

Yes...this past week, two people were brought in for recitals/private lessons in tuba/euph and two trombones the week before that. They all did very well...will not name names though. I feel they are very close to making a decision, and i think I know who they will pick. I'll keep everything posted on the "WTAMU LOW BRASS POSITIONS" post as soon as I hear something.

Congratulations to Kevin Sanders who has been offered the Assistant Professor of Tuba job at the University of Memphis. Professor Sanders is an outstanding musician and a great person to work with and learn from.

Just heard from Sean Greene that he's the new full-time music faculty at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN. He'll be teaching applied brass, theory and history and concert band one night a week.

I will be teaching tuba at Mississippi State University starting this year.

I will be teaching tuba at Mississippi State University starting this year. This was an unannounced/unadvertised adjunct position. It is part of an overall expansion of the music program at State. I have been playing with the faculty quintet and teaching privately out there on and off for three years now, as needed. They finally decided to make it an actual part time position and called me for an interview/audition. My wife was awarded the Horn job.

Since no one knows about this and some here like to keep tabs on who is where and so forth I am volunteering this information. I hope that this is okay. If not, please let me know so I can pull it.

Arkansas Tech has hired an adjunct. His name is Jason Tacker and is finishing up his grad assistant work at the University of Arkansas. He got his bachelor's at Arkansas State under Dr. Ed Owen, a product of Mr. Volta "Andy" Anders.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I'm expecting great things out of him, and I've had the opportunity to play alongside Jason with the Arkansas Intercollegiate Band this past year. A very fine tuba player!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently teaching Tuba and Euphonium at Austin Peay State University. For those of you who have helped me along the way thank you so much for your support and teaching. If it wasn't for my studio teachers I would not be in this position today. I also wanted to inform everyone that I have completed my DMA from the University of Memphis under the direction of Dr. John Mueller and Dr. Charles Schulz.
