Opera Posters
The walls of my apartment are looking rather bare and I'm trying to find some interesting things to put on them. I'm a big fan of the music of John Adams and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get any old (or new) posters from some of his Operas. I figured the Metropolitan Opera store would have some but it doesn't seem to be online (they're performing Dr. Atomic this season). Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Opera Posters
One cool thing I have done to decorate in my studio is hang cool (and colorful) records on the walls. If you go to any crafty type store you can pick up a frame for only $5-10, and you can find a lot of cool albums on Ebay, if you don't have some already.
I have a really cool Shostakovich 1 & 9 record, a Wagner record, Symphonie fantastique, Tubby the Tuba, Prokofiev Love of Three Oranges, and a few more I switch through every now and then.
Very easy and economical way to decorate.

If you can't find any real posters, you could check the press release pages of opera companies to see if they have any high-definition pictures that you can download and get printed in poster form at a professional Print Shop.

Along the same lines, I saw a booth set up at a local music festival where they were selling framed album covers converted into clocks. I bought one as a Christmas gift for my brother...they're pretty sharp looking. They also make clocks out of 45rpm singlesThomas Maurice Booth wrote:One cool thing I have done to decorate in my studio is hang cool (and colorful) records on the walls. There was an interesting personal history written by John Adams in a recent issue of the New Yorker. The piece doesn't appear online, so you'll likely have to find a copy at your local library, but worth the read if you like Adams. Below is a link to the abstract for the piece.
