Walton: Crown Imperial
The orchestra I play in is performing this on our next concert, and the tuba part has gone missing. Anyone have a scan of the part they could email me. The conductor handed me the bass part and the bass bone part, but its just not the same. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FWIW, there is a "no tuba version" (arrangement? reduction?) floating around out there; I have encountered it being programmed a few times over.the elephant wrote:I am playing a program with this on it and the library sheet says that there is no tuba on the piece. It is also not in the score that is being used, yet I too believed that there was tuba on this. Any parts shot to him would be welcomed if shot in my direction as well. Thanks!
(Maybe I had doubled something on this in past years. Hmm… )

Are you perhaps thinking of the band arrangement with all those very fast C major scales?

I agree on the no tuba version. I "didn't" play it a couple of years ago.JB wrote:FWIW, there is a "no tuba version" (arrangement? reduction?) floating around out there; I have encountered it being programmed a few times over.

It is a reduced orchestration, its also shortened. ALso, I had this thought, anyone know if the band arrangement and orchestra arrangement are the same key? If so, I may try that.

I'm 99% sure they are both in C major (at least the beginning and ending sections). The band version was a staple of my undergraduate career at OSU, mostly used for commencement ceremonies (I think the director of bands really likes the march). The tuba part in the band version has some very interesting licks, including a run at the very end from A at the bottom of the staff to middle C in 32nd notes!ZNC Dandy wrote:...anyone know if the band arrangement and orchestra arrangement are the same key?

I played it in Corps this summer...Wait, sorry, I don't think my version would match up with what you'll be playing

I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...

I can confirm there is an orchestral tuba part. Played it in rehearsal this evening.
