Chiapanicas BBb part missing!

Post by Joe Baker »

Our band is performing the Rafael Mendez brass band arrangement of Chiapanicas. After contacting the publisher and Mr. Mendez himself**, we have enough parts to get by; but does anyone know if there's a BBb tuba part? We've got the Eb part, and it seems to be adequate, but if there's a BBb part we'd like to cover it as well.

Does anyone have this arrangement?

Thanks!

** see my later post... I clearly misunderstood this, as Mr. Mendez has passed away some time ago. My apologies for the error.

One of our trumpet players has been trying to get this arrangement gathered together. The director told me he contacted the publisher and the arranger. So I'm working on third-hand info, but that was my understanding. Your question left me wondering if Mr. Mendez is still with us. A quick google tells me that he is not. So I'm not sure who all was contacted, but I'm confidant that we're not putting this together without permission.

If anyone has this arrangement, and can at least let me know if a BBb part exists, I'd appreciate it. If you then need verification from the publisher before faxing a copy, I'll be glad to arrange it.
