I think for the price, whcih includes a decent case, the 582 is not a bad tuba. I'm not sure that in this price range I pay the extra few hundred dollars for the silver.
As I'm sure others will point out, for not a lot more, you could get a new King or a used Miraphone, both good buys also.

I don't care for the smaller Jupiters, but the big 582 is a very good instrument. They should mention in the advertising that it is a dual-bore tuba, which makes the low register really open and easy to play. The valve arrangement is unusually comfortable too. When I played a Jupiter and a King 2341 side by side I liked the King but preferred the Jupiter. The disadvantages are:
(1) mouthpiece receiver is too high for short people.
(2) the tuba could have been more compactly designed.
(3) valve tubing sticks out all over, begging for damage.
