CL Nationwide search
Does anyone kow how to do a national search on Craiglist? All I can manage is city by city and it sure is slow. Please post if you can help.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Re: CL Nationwide search
In a google search box, type the key word(s) for which you are searching. Follow that with a space and the following text: site:craigslist.org/msg. This will search all musical instrument listings. You can leave off the msg if you don't want to limit your search.
For example, tuba site:craigslist.org/msg will find all tuba items in musical instrument listings on all craigslist sites.

Re: CL Nationwide search
I have used this method to search CraigsList before for items but have always come across one downfall. The listings that you get from all of the search engines is old. Typically more then one week old. Google is the best for this type of search, Yahoo is slower and AOL in last place. I have been trying to figure out a way to search current listings and have never been successful with CraigsList. I do not know if it is because CraigsList server is locked out of searches of recent items or the search method needs to be different.

Re: CL Nationwide search
For those of you who use firefox, there is another method that allows you to nationally (or internationally) search craigslist.
http://crazedlist.org/" target="_blank
This site is wonderful. To search multiple craigslists through the website, you have to disable referrers in your settings, but the website will teach you to do that. I especially like the RSS feeds option. So instead of having to search crazedlist.org every week or so, my RSS reader automatically lets me know when a new tuba is listed on craigslist anywhere in the country.

Re: CL Nationwide search
I tried the http://crazedlist.org/" target="_blank with Mozilla Firefox and it worked great. I did have to follow the Popup help for changing the Refer setting but once that was done I got a very good listing of every Craigslist city.
Thanks for this great resource.
