The title of this topic caught my eye and made me think of a couple who floated through here a while back. A crazy tuba & accordion duet...

I have had the pleasure of playing with Zac, good to hear they're still making it work. He's a very funny guy.

Ahhh.... I'm gathering that you've not played at Denton's Tavern in Shawneetown, Illinois. Your statement reminded me of a gig I did back in high school. It was the proverbial 'chicken-wire across the stage' place.

I'm remembering why my hearing is not as good as it should be. Back before engineering days, when I was doing any kind of playing that would net me some cash, I played electric violin in a rock band. In bars, from 10PM to 3 PM, three nights a week.

One night during a break, I went outside, around the corner, and was sitting leaning on the sill of a window in some store, trying to get away from the drunks, smoke, and noise. A car full of drunken guys screeched to a halt right in front of me, and one of them leaned out the window and screamed "What do you WAAAANT?"

That in reference to lack of physical danger that Bloke spoke of. I was close enough to the bar that I could have run back in there had they started to get out of the car, but let's just say I like being an engineer better than I liked that phase of my life.
