Well, I guess I should have spoken up sooner. Ben Pierce gave his faculty recital yesterday. Which, by the way, was awsome!!!!

Really nothing big, but the TubaMeisters will perform at the Wurstfest in New Braunfels on Saturday. We are a tuba-euph quartet. You'd also get to hear a number of other performing groups, including some with tuba in them. This would include a really good and entertaining group known as Alpenfest, with a very fine tuba player named Mike Barker. Oh yeah, and there is the group known as the Sauerkrauts. They have a decent tuba player, also.

UNT is having Oktubafest this Friday (Oct. 31st). All three tuba/euph choirs are playing and there's going to be numerous solos, duets, trios, quartets, and who knows what else. You'd get your fill of tuba and it's free!

Break a leg.

Last year I saw a PBS story on the settlers and their descendants around New Braunfels. There was a scene featuring a miked tuba player in a Bierhall doing what sounded like a clarinet lead, and he didn't miss a lick. But I didn't see any credits.
