Michael Giacchino - honorary tuba player

Post by poomshanka »

Apologies if I posted about Michael before, but I'm sitting here listening to some of his great work, and thought I'd share a link with you:

I don't know what his background is relative to the tuba, but he sure throws some nice bones to the basement dwellers. His site offers full-length, high-quality samples of his work, much of it featuring very thick low-end, dual-tuba work by the Northwest Sinfonia. The low brass is nice-n-hot in the mix!!

His contractor here in L.A. is John Van Houten, so maybe John's had some sway over his orchestration choices! Michael's listed as the composer for Pixar's "Incredibles" movie, so I'm really looking forward to hearing that score.
