He was my high school band director and knows his stuff. Get the book and follow the instructions and you'll improve your sight-reading. A lot of people buy the book and practice the excerpts, and don't follow the instructions, that defeats the purpose. Get it and follow instructions, it worked for me.

Have you tried the 'Slama' yet? It is a good method but you have to learn to read down the octave. For other methods, ask the trombone or euph guys.
