Re: What's for Supper Tonight?

Post by TMurphy »

Tonight, I think I'd really like to make some tacos or nachos. Neither are terribly authentic, and the meat I cook is ground chicken seasoned with "taco seasoning" powder, which is primarily chili powder. Not real mexican food but it's easy to make and I like it, so I don't much care. When I want *real* mexican food, I'll go to a restaurant.

But, as much as I want this, I think my girlfriend is going to want to use her new fondue pot, so I will likely be having fondue for dinner. Unless I can convince her to have tacos, and make a chocolate fondue for dessert....

One of my co-workers gave me some venison steaks, so there will be venison steak cut, simmered with mushrooms and a can of cream of mushroom soup, served over smashed potatos, green salad on the side, and berry cobbler for dessert.

Gonna grill pork chops, sweet potatoes and squash, serve it up with cinnamon applesauce or butter and cinnamon. Birthday dinner for my pipe band drummer friend.

Pork Shoulder that's been on the grill for about 3 hours now. Needs another 3 at least. Real slow, real good!

My wife starts a stretch of work tomorrow that lasts until New Years. She must feel bad that we won't see each other much, or she is thankful she won't see me much, because she is making me Chicken Paprikash. It will taste GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD with a couple of IPA's.

Pork Tenderloin stuffed with herbed goat cheese and cranberries, roasted asparagus and nutty brown rice. Washed down by a Saranac Brewing Company Pomegranate Wheat Beer...

I labor over making [extremely mediocre] pancakes about once a week for my mother and I.
Maybe I could blast my way into the future?
