Legal tuba mp3's (iTunes, Amazon....)

Post by tubaribonephone »

So I've started working for ChaCha.com recently and I've decided that the money I earn from it will go towards purchasing some tuba CD's. To save on shipping though, I would like to download them like you would on iTunes. If I really want the CD though, and I can't find it any place else, then I'll shell out the money for shipping.

So my question is, where online is a good place to download legal tuba mp3's other than iTunes or Amazon?

Thanks!
Ricky

Has lots of fairly obscure stuff. You can find solo records by Demondrae Thurman, Dan Perantoni and others. The only downside is their subscription pricing plans. You can buy from 10 and up tracks per month via yearly subscription; if you don't use up a particular month's allotment of downloads, they are lost. If you go for a generous subscription plan, each track is about 20 cents. The best part is they offer MP3s without any DRM.

If you are a registered member of my forum you can get to the "Downloads for Members Only" section. There are free recordings there of euphonium and tuba players. At present there are more euphonium than tuba, but here are the tuba artists you can find there:

SOLISTS:
Jeff Rideout
Floyd Cooley
Harvey Phillips
Tuba Duet - Otis Wilson and Michael Wagner
Jeff Arwood
Oystein Baadsvik
Harry Salotti
Gene Pokorny
Louis Saverino (U.S. Marine Band)
Roger Bobo
Tucker Jolly

ENSEMBLES:
1983 Army Band Conference Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble
Atlantic Tuba Quartet

I should have mentioned it earlier, but you can find a pile of .mp3's on the Cimarron Music Press site:

http://www.cimarronmusic.com/

If you listen to them all, it is little over 4 hours of music! More to be posted as they become available. If you happen to have a recording of something from our catalog and would like us to consider posting it, please send it along to my email address: bvdpress@snet.net" target="_blank

If you happen to be looking for a new Tuba chart, check out "Chant" on the homepage. There is an .mp3 and a pdf for you to evaluate the piece, etc.

I apologize for the shameless self promotion, but for legal mp3's. . .

Check out the Po'Boys Brass Band on iTunes for some tuba driven grooves. :tuba: Our debut album, Bone Break, is on there.

The CD is available at CDBaby.com

enjoy!
