I think this was the first F tuba I ever played....was for sale here in town and I offered to buy it but it had already been given to someone to sell on ebay, and they weren't willing to give up their commission. I was favorably impressed and found it playable, even in my complete novice condition.

Sorry that one got away, frankly. It would have done me quite well I think.

How long ago was this? I was under the impression by the rep at the ITEC booth that this was a new design. I of course could be wrong.

You probably are entirely right. But....I played a very small F tuba that I remember (however accurate that may or may not be) as a Willson. It was a piston tuba. It was fewer than ten years ago, but that's about as accurate as I can get on the time span. And the one I played was not new. Maybe Willson made a small one before and decided to try again? Maybe it wasn't a Willson? Maybe I have a memory leak!!
