Vaughn Williams Performance- Greg Townsend

Hello-

One of my students, Greg Townsend, was recently selected to perform the first movement of the Vaughn Williams Concerto with orchestra as part of the Howard County Young Artists Competition. There were six soloists selected to perform on this concert and Greg's Concerto will be the final work of the evening. Greg will be playing the VW Concerto with the Young Artists Orchestra on January 31, 2009 at 7:00pm. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held at Marriotts Ridge High School- 12100 Woodford Dr

Greg is 16 years old and has been very successful as a young tubist. This winter Greg will be performing with the Maryland All State Orchestra and he has previously held the position of principal tuba in the Maryland All State Junior and Senior Bands for three years running. Greg is a very musical player and this concert will be well worth the trip if you are close to this region of Maryland.
