Is the footstool for a classical guitar or do you use it for your tuba?
Actually, oh observant ehlutzcem (and thank you for the compliments) I DO use that footstool for my tuba. The 1291 sits a little bit easier resting on my leg, and leaves my left hand free to move slides instead of holding up the tuba. :)

You have to have encyclopedic knowledge of the film, "The Big Lebowski" to truly understand it.

Someone is after The Dude, breaks into his house and pees on his rug. The Dude's buddy comments how the rug really tied the room together and laments that it was ruined by being urinated upon. This becomes a running commentary through the rest of the film.

They don't allow that sort of stuff at his college. He doesn't have a copy of it. And I can't find mine. Damn.

I am the walrus.

(Sorry, but I couldn't resist, since it did go in that direction due to my initial nudge. And it really IS a nice rug… )

Probably not kid or work safe, but it does underscore the importance of the Dude's rug…

Yeah, there's just something about the sound of vinyl that is missing from cd's (I know what it is, it's just don't feel like going on about it at length right now :) )

Just added a couple of new things to my vinyl collection - Stravinsky himself conducting the Columbia Symphony Orchestra in the Firebird and Petrushka Suites, and Frederick Fennell conducting the Cleveland Symphonic Winds in Lincolnshire Posy (one of my favorite Graingers), and some Arnaud and Vaughan Williams. I'm listening to Petrushka right now, and it's a wonderful and rare treat to hear how the composer wants it to sound; plus the record is in amazing condition and the recording sounds stellar! I'm anxious to hear the Bear interpretation, and if it is the one with the high D on the end of the solo.....

Indeed it did have the high D on the end, however, the timbre of the solo sounded like that of a trombone.... an F tuba perhaps? That's cheating!!

With Stravinsky, I think the actual French C tuba was used which would account for the very bright sound. Confirm?
