bloke, I myself, and other members discussed this topic some time ago. bloke like photos not exceeding the screen of his laptop. I tend to find sources with rather large photos.
Tubenet reacted by adding an automatic facility, which limited the width of the display of uploaded photos or linked photos. So far so good, but as may be seen in a current thread:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31753
the right margin of a too large photo is cropped.
I definitely see the automatic reduction as a help, as I don’t have to worry about over-taxing bloke’s screen. Yet I would prefer the reduction be a proportional resizeing allowing for the view of the full image only at proportionally reduced extensions along the vertical as well as the horizontal dimensions.
I have no idea about the codes involved.

Re: Photo size reduction
I've been looking for a way to implement this, with no luck so far. We used to be able to use HTML tags to select the display size, but it seems that HTML is disabled here now (I searched for photos I'd re-sized some time ago, and they're just text now). There seems to be an option in BBcode (in the IMG tag) to resize images, but I've tried it and it didn't work either. About the only thing I can suggest is re-sizing the photo(s) before linking to or attaching them (sort of a large thumbnail) -- can't imagine that *not* working. You could provide a link under the re-sized photo to let the reader download the full-sized photo. Hope this helps!

There's no mention of resizing in the implementation of BBCode on TubeNet
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I'd noticed that, which is why I went a bit further afield trying to find something that would work:windshieldbug wrote:There's no mention of resizing in the implementation of BBCode on TubeNet

Having said that, I just noticed that, further up the "bbcode.org" page, their "named quote" example doesn't use quote marks around the name, which also doesn't work here. (Just tried putting quote marks around the "width" and "height" specs -- in several combinations -- and no, that doesn't work either.)
