Anyone in the Chicago suburbs...

Post by tubatom91 »

Can come to the concert I'm playing in a St. Marks Church in Aurora IL. The West Aurora High School Wind Symphony will be playing there with their organist, who will be playing their spanking new $400,000 pipe organ. The pieces include:
Elsa's Procession to the cathedral: Wagner
Terpsichore: Bob Margolis
The Pines of Rome: The Pines Of Appian Way: Resphigi.
This will be a great concert. PM for details

We played a festival on Saturday it went rather well for being held in a high school indoor track/fieldhouse.

I forgot to mention that we have student teacher that is directing me and an assortment of other brass players on the Gabrielli Sonate Pian d'une forte, (or however its spelled).

thanks for the link! I didn't even know it was on their website  .

The Wind Ensemble will be play the Vaughn Williams, Strauss, and Reed. They sound great as well. The Wind Ensemble is my high school's second band, and the wind symphony is the top band. I would love to see anybody that comes, I'll be the only guy up there playing a rotary valved tuba.

We played tonight, I am very very pleased with the performance, it was one of those concerts in which the pre-concert rehersal was "OK" but when we hit the stage we were on. This evening's performance was quite possibly the best we had ever played those pieces. If anybody came to see it (on this board) thank you for coming, and I hope you could find a seat!
