I just played a really nice arrangement of the Tiger Rag, by Jack Gale.

the Eric Ball tuba quartet is a nice little piece. It may sound a litle dated now, but is worth playing

Re: Best of the Best Tuba Quartets
I was looking to start a discussion about music, perhaps generating a list that might be useful to people.
In retrospect, I realized that I was unclear about that point, but I think a list of known [performing] quartets would be pretty short!

It would be short! Which is why I thought music too...Jedi Master wrote:I was looking to start a discussion about music, perhaps generating a list that might be useful to people.

however, groups themselves would be a neat discussion.

Re: Best of the Best Tuba Quartets
I also initially read the OP as thought of groups rather than music and was going to nominate the Melton Tuba Quartet - great sound! For music I will nominate piece from their most recent CD, "What a Wonderful World" arranged by Ingo Luis. I do not usually take to the sound of tuba quartets as they can sound so muddy, but this sounds wonderful played on F with Fafner on the bottom

I'm personally a fan of St. James Infirmary arranged by Mike Forbes. Really fun to play and a crowd-pleaser.
