Pros and Old(er) Tubas?

Post by Peach »

Apart from Mr Pokorny with the CSO Yorks is anyone aware of pros using 'older' tubas?

One man's 'older' is anothers 'nearly new' I know but let's just see what this turns up.

Just wondering.

PS. Here in the UK some pros are using 30 year old tubas like Besson Standards etc. Stuart Roebuck's Barlow F predates the CSO Yorks but he retired about the same time as Arnold Jacobs I think. Unlike Chicago with Pokorny, the Halle's two subsequent players have used a Boosey Eb compensating Eb and a rotary PT6.
