Rogue Brewery also makes "Arrogant Bastard" Ale, in addition to their Dead Guy Ale. A bit bitter for my taste.

Had both on tap in a bar over at Cornell recently... I liked 'em (and the names are just fantastic)

Red Dog is available in Washington State. On tap, too. Just wait until you are here in Sept., Dennis. You can even go to the brewery if you want.
Thanks Big Ben, Red Dog is pretty good.

My Belgian Trappist Monks kick the asses of your Belgian Trappist Monks!
Man, those boys must have been good, seeing as they channeled all that sexual energy into their beer production.

One of our regional micro brews had a "Santa's Little Helper" beer this year that was a decent winter ale. I like the Santa's Butt picture, tho!

And better yet, one of our marching band (The One More Time Marching Band) sax players made a summer brew that she had debut after a July parade that she called "One More Beer" that was really good.

I'm partial to Free beer.

I usually buy our local micro's stuff at the store to have at home (Sudwerk's), and usually have Sierra Nevada or anchor steam when out. (both are quasi local to me).

I'm of the 'support your local craftsman' type of consumer generally.

My favorite beer is "ice cold".

It is amazing to me how a beer that I would otherwise consider bongwater improves on a hot summer day when it is cold enough to almost turn to ice. That's about a half hour in a home freezer. When coupled with a frozen pint glass, heavenly.

I agree. I have grown weary of the "bulk" associated with beer. Distillation has it's advantages and fine Whiskey is a real treat for the common man. :D

the elephant wrote:I would ditto this one, personally. I still have a box full of those little goats on the (erstwhile) red and white string that I collected while living in Brooklyn in the late 1980s. Celebrator is great stuff!
They are all over my college mug from Bernie's Bagels on High St., across from Weigel Hall, in Columbus!
Ha!

Bernie's Bagels is famous for its "Beer Challenge" which culminates with a Celebrator.

The Beer Challenge is if you drank something like 200 beers, upon completion you'd get a mug with your name on it and your name on a small plate on the wall engraved with your name.

After finishing your Celebrator, you took the little plastic goat and saved it to tie to your mug when you finished the challenge. Each time you finished the challenge again you'd hang another goat from your mug.

Do they still do this?
