B&S CC (One of the good old ones)

Post by Søren »

Somebody once expressed interest in buying my old 4v B&S CC. There is now one on ebay. Mine plays excellent and very well in tune. If anybody is looking for a good 4/4 sized plug-and-play tuba this is it. And it is cheap too!!

Sounds like about the same size as a PT-3. I presume the predecessor model, but with horizontal main tubing slide? Interesting!

Very Nice! Better angle to see than in the advert. If I had not already got the PT-3 for marching, that CC for sale would tempt me.

Interesting that the bell on your CC and F look the same. I am convinced my PT3 and PT-15 also use the same bell, but in that case the CC one is cut shorter.

That went for only $1,500?!? Seems like it's so similar to something like a 186, and same aged 186's go for at least double that, right? I realize it's a 4 valve, but still... It seems like REALLY old 3 valve beaters that are playable go for about a grand.

Why so cheap? Am I missing something?
Roll that beautiful bean footage...

Everybody knows that a Miraphone, B&S and others are good tubas. Few people know the brand "Meister Gerhard Schneider" is a B&S in disguise and indeed is a good horn, and not some Chinese copy.
