What am I missing, bloke? Why don't you have to pay him?

Because he spent a few hours being Buffer Boy, polishing out and then clear-lacquering those probably corroded old aluminum trim pieces from the '63 split-window that he wants to borrow (in his dreams).

And how has that argument being working for you?

Once upon a time there was something called the barter system. Humans started abandoning it when we started losing trade-able skills.

Oops...I just read over the "polish and re-coat with clear" part of bloke's post. Sounds like a pretty nice system worked out there!

Just remind him that the fiberglass and aluminum will float in any emergency, thus saving him the actual annoyance of recovery... :D
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

A young relative- in- law who recut a sail for me and made a new canvass cover for my houseboat, dropped all charges after I bailed him out of jail for a misdemeanor.
He put a lot of work into these two projects. I owe him cash besides but he refuses. I'll show him. I'll pay his wife.

Before I learned to do anything for myself... around 1975.

Oh, wait... that was the year before I learned to drive.

Nevermind.
