Billy Joel for Quintet?

Post by tbn.al »

I have a request for some Billy Joel tunes for an upcoming quintet gig. I have exhausted all my present resourses. Anybody know where one might purchase some?
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

I assume you are referring to brass quintet arrangements of Billy Joel tunes. If not, you could just buy one of the Billy Joel collections and do your own. I am not aware of any quintet arrangements. Too bad. There are some really good tunes.

I'm sure he has multiple song books published that you could work from. You might even be able to find some MIDIs over the internet.

I could do it myself, but time and copyright contraints tell me it's not worth the trouble for a freebie gig.

Is there anything like a medley for concert band out there? You might be able to "condense" it down to brass quintet fairly quickly. Then you could re-sell the original to some sucker director at the local high school.
