please help me identify this music.

Post by Anterux »

sorry, not a tuba related post, but...

When I was around 8 years old I used to hear a music on tv.

It was around 1980.

I loved that music and I'm trying hard to identify it.

It was sang by a boy soprano or a countertenor. From the lyrics I can remember the words "Sancte Spiritus" or "Sancti Spiritu".

I played what I remember of it. please hear it. I dont know if everything is correct, but it's what I remember... Please help me if you can!

Thank you all for trying, I know it isn't going to be easy. But I have to try.

Do you know of any other forum I should try to post this? If so send me a private message.

Thank you!

There are several potential reasons why nobody here has come up with an ID of this music.

It may be specific for your country and/or for areas mostly Catholic. To me it sounds like pop influenced, and in general I avoid such church music. However I liked Pie Jesu by Lloyd Webber, so some is good.

There is a Yahoo group (probably several others, too) about church music, where you maybe can get help on this matter:

If I had to guess I'd say it was Pie Jesu by Lloyd Webber as Klaus has said. I think it was getting a bit of airplay around this time. It WAS a long time ago, and I'm no expert - certainly not on stuff with lyrics like this :-)

Thank you all for trying to help me.

I agree it's not easy. But if I'm lucky someone may know this melody... One never knows...

That music had classical characteristics and modern (pop?) characteristics. May have been an arrangement of something classic or baroque, or just something of the XX century...

It's not the Veni Sancte Spiritus of gregorian, nor the Mozart's.
