FWIW, I try to keep my plain generic-looking minivan as plain and generic as possible?
WHY???
A) ANYTHING out of the ordinary will cause the poh-leese to give you and your vehicle a second look.
B) A tuba on the outside implies a tuba on the inside. If so, it just got stolen. If not, that dark tinted glass window is still awful expensive to replace.
C) There may be somebody out there who forgot to take their meds today. And you are going a little too slow / fast for that person or made the mistake of driving on the same road as them. They will now remember you.
D) Just something else for the neighborhood kids to pull off your car.

I like the idea. As a rural mail carrier, I had a local sign shop make me magnetic plastic signs saying, "Rural letter carrier","Watch for stop" and various others including, "I might be slow but I'm ahead of you".
I could stick 'em on any piece of junk I might be driving and pull them off quickly and easily.
I was considering having a sign made that reads, "Got Tuba?" ,but at our casino gig last week, some parrothead friends asked me if I had a "More Tuba" sign on my car. They were referring to the "More Cow Bell" video.
I think I like the "More Tuba" idea better and I plan to have that sign made to stick on my cars. :)

Or you can always carry a baseball bat in your passenger seat in case anyone tries to give you trouble for having the stickers/how you drive.
It works wonders (from a guy with flames on his camry...it looks awesome)

What does local LE think of that, when they pull you over for doing 5 MPH over the limit, changing lanes without signaling well in advance, having something in back they mistook for an unbelted child, etc?

(When I lived in NJ, a former drug dealer told me to never carry a baseball bat in the car, but golf clubs instead - highly effective and you will not get hasssled as much. Bikers carrry hammers for similar reasons. A paranoid BD friend of mine carries the longest MAG flashlight made in his car.)

I've never gotten in trouble for it...
I first started carrying it when a father at my high school was harassing me while driving...he was a little off, so I took something that I could use for protection...being that I'm now living in the most miserable city in the country, I figure it's still good to have something in case someone tries to carjack me or something.
It's the same idea as the paddle that Phi Mu has us carry...being that I live sort of off campus (across a street from everything else), it makes going home late at night feel a lot safer. Not that that's really the point, but...yeah

If you get one made... be sure to get it laminated with clear plastic. Then it will not fade as readily and will withstand weather better. I made my wife a set of 24 magnets for her minivan. She can change them every couple of weeks to celebrate monthly holidays, season changes, etc.
