2009 BUTI Tuba/Euphonium Workshop with Mike Roylance

For the fourth consecutive summer, Mike Roylance will be leading a two-week workshop Tuba/Euphonium Workshop at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Topics discussed at the workshop include: tuba/euphonium fundamentals, solo and chamber repertoire, audition preparation, as well as orchestral and wind band excerpts. The seminar will run from June 14 through June 27 and there is still room for additional participants. Students ages 15 to 20 are encouraged to join us for this two-week program. Tuba & Euphonium Workshop
Ages 15 to 20

The 2009 Boston University Tanglewood Institute Tuba & Euphonium Workshop will be held under the direction of Boston Symphony Orchestra principal tuba Mike Roylance.

Through individualized attention in daily class settings, the workshop will address the technical and musical aspects of playing the tuba and euphonium. Master classes offered by the director will focus on technique, solo repertoire, orchestral excerpts, and audition preparation.

As an integral component of the workshop, students will also be organized into and coached in quartets and a tuba-euphonium choir. Weekly performance classes will provide additional opportunities for students to develop and refine their stage presence, audition, and recital skills.
