You messed up that beautiful bell with that ugly thing. Eewwwwww.........Got to fix that. That's worse than a beautiful girl smoking a cigar.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Recorded to tape rather than to disk.

Much better because the glaring non-sophisticated tech-look has been covered up.

bloke has become the type, who fixes major problems with duct tape.

That's not duct tape. Anyone can see that it's sousafoil!

I suppose that, as one ages, it's difficult to play a Sousaphone loudly enough to be heard without amplification.

Isn't that just called white noise?

Jeeze, add in an amplified viola, too, while you're at it!

yeah...yeah...yeah...blah...blah...blah... :|

Let's hear Alan, Gene, Warren (back in his prime), or even Eric Von Schteric (dur vorld's loudest tuber player - according to Mad Magazine) acoustically balance with amplified trumpets, amplified trombones, amplified saxes, amplified keyboard(s), and amplified DRUMS.

Say - that "Roots" guy does OK without a peace symbol on his bell.

heh. he uses a tiny mic on a thin gooseneck sort of clip. I think, unless you are into spending a fortune on mics, blokes set up gives a better sound than most of the little condensors out there. When I looked into them a little bit back, most seemed to have a huge performance drop off at about 70 hz, since 60-ish is a low Bb.....that's not gonna fly most of the time. even if the overtones are covered.
