Those were genuine San Antonio Kaepa sneakers with two laces on each shoe. I loved those shoes! If you were a HS or college kid in San Antonio in the early 1980s you HAD to have a pair of these shoes.

Were those the ones with the little plastic inserts that could be bought in different colors?

We had those issued to us a few years later when we played at Fiesta Texas. At that time, the word was that the kids would buy the inserts in gang colors.

Some things never change.

By the way--I passed 145 pounds at age 10 or so, and 200 pounds in the 10th grade. I've had a head start, but some folks have passed me up since then.

Wow, I think those look really nice! It looks like the company only makes cheerleading footwear now, but me see a pretty-looking pair on the 'bay...
