Ferdinand Wiedermann F Tuba

Post by Roger Lewis »

  • Some people expressed an interest in the odd horn that I played for a Civil War band gig over the weekend. It was a Ferdinand Wiedermann F tuba and it plays extremely well - especially for a horn that is about 150 years old. Here are some more photos of it.

Thanks for the photos!

That tubas certainly looks well made.

I am not able to read the engraving (transcript, please!), yet the valve placement and the paddle/string string design is something I only have seen from American CV era instruments.
