Celestial Morn - Leslie Condon Solo: Recordings?

Post by charlieJ »

Hi All,

After a long search I just received the full Brass Band arrangement of Celestial Morn in the mail from the UK. I'm pretty excited about it as I got to play with Leslie Condon when he sat in with the Sheringham Salvation Army Band back in the 70s. I was a young lad at the time...

Anyway - does anyone know of a recording with this solo on it that I can buy?

Thanks,

Charlie

Andrew Baker wrote:There are 3 that i know. One is an old recording that was remastered and performed by the composer the album is called the Bernard Adams collection. The style is very dated, very short playing. The second one is by Al Honsberger and the New York Staff Band and the recording is called Under Three Flags I believe. The third is by Steve Sykes, with the Enfield Citadel Band and the album is called Journey into Freedom. This recording is great but way too slow. You can find all of these recordings form the world of brass catalogue most likely.
Thnaks for the plug, Andrew!
