Unfortunately the man I know, who would have known, passed away a few weeks ago. He would have known, because he was there. He accompanied Maria Callas on her arias from Carmen. I also think he may have conducted the orchestra on a few numbers. His name was Charles Wendelken-Wilson. IIRC though, I think it was the New York City Opera Orchestra that was playing at that performance. I could be wrong . I really miss Charles, I had the good fortune to know him, and work with him, and now occupy his old time slot. Mighty big shoes to fill...
