Are the parts for "Kopprasch Studies" transposed for the different key tubas but still written in bass clef?highsierra wrote:.....I have also included some tunes to download in PDF format... RenoPhil

Please forgive my ignorance but I'm just an amateur player and in my 50 years have never seen transposed bass clef parts.... only the familiar tenor and C clefs. Is this done to standardize the fingerings? If so... where is the open fundamental? C??highsierra wrote:Yes, Russ

It's not transposed like Bb trumpet music for band; it's just the same study transposed to keep the fingering patterns the same on different keyed tubas.
The version for C-tuba starts on a C whilst the version for F-tuba starts on an F (ie: 'open') for the first study...
Any of the studies are playable on any keyed tuba obviously =)

Re: Some Transcriptions For Tuba To Download
I have down loaded and played some of these transcriptions and I think they are a lot of fun. The surprise was to find Saint-Saëns' L'Elephant, from Carnival of the Animals when i played Tuba Ditty. Thanks for the new pieces and for taking the time to share them.
Always make a good sound; audiences will forget if you miss a note but making a good sound will get you the next job.
