I think I'll treat myself tomorrow to a nice burger. Maybe I'll bring a friend. That's what I'll do.

That is what I mean, the proper form of that would be Consuela with an A at the end. I am from San Antonio and have never seen it spelled with the masculine O at the end. How weird.
I am from Southern California. I speak fluent SoCal Spanish (well, I did until I moved to Vietnam a couple of years ago.)

If you remember the Marcus Welby, M.D., TV series from the 1970s, you remember that Dr. Welby and Dr. Kiley had a nurse named Consuelo Lopez, who was played by Elena Verdugo. I met many other Consuelos after her. I just haven't met any women named Consuelo here in the Philippines.

I say Consuela, you say Consuelo

The key to this mystery is that it's a noun (consuelo). Nouns have gender already - they don't have to agree with anything, it's the adjectives that have to agree with the nouns.

It's not like there is no such thing as consuela - translates as "[he/she/it] consoles", but consuelo is a different, albeit related, word.

A quarter of a muffuletta - dressed. That was over 2 hours ago and the olives are still good.

Dinner tonight - something fried from the local "fish camp", lots of hushpuppies, double slaw. Key lime pie for dessert.

Hold on - just got a message from my arteries. I'll be back - soon - maybe.

Grandson has a loose tooth so I fixed him Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup with sweet tea.
I had another can of it so I had the same.

I know what it means, but it is a woman's name.

Today.... just a few minutes ago.... two pieces of leftover pizza. One pepperoni, and one sausage. Also two ears of sweet corn left from a pool party two days ago. Yum!

When I used to play in a Big Band (1940s style music) in the early-mid 1970s, we'd used our meal allowance to buy pizza for dinner, then leave it on the TV in the hotel room overnight (never turning off the TV). In the morning the pizza was warm and tasty.
