Dear professors, colleagues and friends,
I'm very sad to inform you all of the passing of tubist Richard Brown.
"I will miss you very much my good friend"
He was a member of the Placentia Symphonic Winds near Fullerton California as section leader since 2004, helped start the Los Angeles Metro Brass Band, and other groups I cannot remember. He taught me much, was one of the kindest human beings I have ever met and was, despite health problems, always in good spirits and never to down to "tuba talk" or play a few duets. One of those guys you always want to have a chat with!
He passed away during his sleep Friday night in Monrovia, CA.
for those who knew Richard Brown, I received the news from John and Collette Hausey, directos of the PSB (Placentia Symphonic Band).
...you just never know.
Call up a friend and just let them know you care about them.
Thanks,
Abel Rios

Yes, a sweet man, I will miss him.
I will always associate "Harrigan" with him because of the beautiful way he played it.

R.I.P.
How old was Richard?
If this is the same Richard Brown who sold me the MW Bell model CC tuba, he was a really fine gentleman to deal with. I wish his family the best.

All i can say is that I'm shocked and saddened to hear this. Richard was a very nice man! I've always enjoyed talking to him.
I'm just stunned!
