Hello there tubenet! I've been browsing around here for about a year now and I decided to create an account because i had a question for whoever may be able to answer it.
I've recently noticed that when I'm tonguing there's a sound that kind of sounds like a little bit of air after i play i note. I hadn't really noticed it at all until today when i just suddenly started to hear it, So I'm not sure how long its been going on. But is this a big problem? And how would i go about solving this?
It's just that you're not supplying enough air for the articulation to be clean. Take the mouthpiece outta the horn and buzz the same line you're working on with articulation. Then plug the mouthpiece back in and I can just about guarantee you'll notice a significant difference once your air is flowing a little better. It's a common issue that instructors need to help remedy all the time. You needn't worry too much about it - especially if my advice is enough to fix it.
I am not sure I understand what you are describing. Do you mean there is a slight heistation or air between when you tongue the note and it actually starts to sound?
