Re: Update Update
My class piano teacher apperantly changed everyone's grades. I know that she doesn't like me (plus she deliberately tried to mess me up on my final), and the grade was already a D+.
Of course, now my college isn't letting me even look at my grades because I apperantly need a PIN number inside their system which I have never gotten.
Frustrating...but I got my little tuba back today at least...

Absolutely! Didn't you know that Bloke is really Juan Antonio Samaranch? What did you think he was up to after he resigned from the IOOC?Tubaing wrote:Update:

Re: Update Update
It's actually good news that the car is leaking oil on the driveway. That makes the head gasket unlikely, and that job is much more expensive than the other alternatives. If you still suspect a blown head gasket, check the oil on the dipstick for any white color (that would indicate water (coolant) getting into the oil gallery around the combustion chamber) and the coolant for any darkening of color (that would indicate oil getting into the coolant the same way)...engines with blown head gaskets nearly always do this "mixing" of fluids.tubashaman2 wrote:Does anyone know how much this should cost. I don't remember having a leak when I got it in december, but all the strut problems and car hitting the ground could have caused something, and the changing temperatures....could have destroyed the gasket, this leak didn't start till I got an oil change, so it might have been super low before.....and didn't notice till I noticed it was leaking in the driveway. But I am not sure
The problem could be as simple as a leaking oil filter (believe it or not, even pro mechanics sometimes forget to make sure the old oil filter gasket is removed and therefore screw the new filter on it - a "gasket on a gasket" provides a leak path for the oil). It could also be a poorly-tightened or stripped oil drain plug - either way, not very expensive to fix. If you have a warped oil pan, even that's not so bad - a little over $100 if you buy a new aftermarket pan yourself (see here for Napa's oil pan) plus whatever labor you're charged by whoever you find to install it. Worst case is a leaking rear main seal, simply because it's fairly labor-intensive to replace (step 1 - pull the tranny!). That job might approach your $600 max, but shouldn't exceed it.
If you're curious, lay some cardboard under the front end of the car and determine the area where the leak is coming from - that should answer your question about what the problem is.
Todd, not surprised to see James still posting here, but surprised at the expediency of his return.
