The tuba part is easy (kind of) It's the trumpet, trombone, and tenor sax part that's hard to get.Tubaing wrote:C C Eb

Let me guess... with the YBBB it's a little different every time. Never heard the band but now I'm interested. YouTube?

There is only one arrangment that I know of and it's not the full song, just the ending with some other stuff thown in...it's good but it's missing the solos (which are what the song cool). As for the tuba part being easy...my friend transcribed it for pep band and I can assure you it's much harder than you think. Nat makes it sound so easy...now once you memorize it, it's easy but that's the case with any song.

Yeah, he makes it sound so easy! I'll still give it a go, though. And I'd appreciate it if you could point me to the sheet music. Anything is better than nothing.Arkietuba wrote:There is only one arrangment that I know of and it's not the full song, just the ending with some other stuff thown in...it's good but it's missing the solos (which are what the song cool). Sax solo starts at [2:10], sousaphone solo at [3:27]

That was a ton of fun! Not a perfect runthrough, and I don't know why I didn't play the root at the end, but I think we did great!

Re: YBBB - Brooklyn Sheet Music
Damn! What a good sheet music site - not only do they have some "edgy" charts, sometimes they let you see a sample page to see how it is layed out, and an audio clip to hear the arrangement! Very useful!
(It is not clear on the site, but I just called to check: according to the sales department, "marching band" charts are printed on flip-folder size pages and the price includes normal licensing fees for performance - but not recording.)
and reasonable prices...

Re: YBBB - Brooklyn Sheet Music
Yup, that's the one! It's not "great" but it's better than nothing. I can try and ask my friend if he'd post his arrangement. It's better (IMO) and the tuba part is the actual tuba part instead of the simplified one from this website, but that's because it's for a broader range of tuba players I guess.
At some point, my director is going to give me his score to the Alfred version and my friend is going to give me his score to his arrangement and I'm going to combine them since one is from the beginning and the other is from the ending. That'll be loads of fun

Re: YBBB - Brooklyn Sheet Music
If anyone's still interested, I have an arrangement I can send through email. I mostly wrote off of this arrangement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOd9wjuzEVM" target="_blank, but I manipulated it a bit, and replaced the horn part with a Tenor Sax part, and added a second trombone part. PM me if you want it, and i'll send audio, and a PDF score and parts.

Here is a link to the score and parts available from the band's merch page.

I know it's expensive, but you might want to support a great band and hope they can keep recording and touring.
