Re: Update Update
This dome of high pressure has been squatting over the Gulf (Guf) Coast for two weeks now, keeping our daytime highs above 100.
My niece Phaedra and her husband, Pete, are at our beach this week for a vacation. Pete's a boater.
Pete and I found some wind out on Mobile Bay yesterday - enough to get my 26 foot sailboat rockin' in the groove.
A 15 knot breeze had us reasonably comfortable - fortified by lots of ice water and a couple shots of Captain Morgan Rum.

Is that why most baritone players have a vibrato/tremolo that would put most Leslie cabinets to shame?OldsRecording wrote:Vibrato covers a multitude of sins.bloke wrote:At least you could increase your chances of matching the pitches of many tuba players and trombonists.MartyNeilan wrote:I am thinking about entering the world of fretless bass.

They're just like soprano singers (and stopped clocks); a wide and fast enough vibrato, and you're bound to be right sometime (twice a day)MartyNeilan wrote:Is that why most baritone players have a vibrato/tremolo that would put most Leslie cabinets to shame?

UPDATE:
A/C work is expensive, and for no real reason other than it is.

Is that the same scale as a "standard (aka 3/4) upright bass?bloke wrote:fwiw, I own one of these...Besides the pick-up that is built into the bridge, I added a Schaller magnetic pick-up on to the end of the fretboard. I play it through my old '75 Ampeg flip-top tube amp.
