Where's the Silvo?

Post by Hank74 »

I've been looking everywhere for a new can of Silvo here in town. Looked at Walmart, Lowe's, and my local grocery store. For some reason there off the shelves. I did see Brasso at Lowe's yesterday.

Silvo and Brasso are what I've been using to polish up my horns over the years. I've found them to be great to use and easy to work with.

Has Silvo been discontinued? That'd be sad since I wouldn't know what to use for my silver Jupiter sousaphone. :(

The last can that I bought was last summer at a local True Value.
True Value stores use an inventory system (much like Auto Zone etc.) that lets them search a huge catalog of items in their warehouse so that, if they don't have the Silvo in stock, they can have it on their next shipment from the warehouse.

I'd try a hardware store. Just saw some last week at my local store...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

It's a European product that appears to be getting harder to get here in the US. However, there's a guy in Chicago that still advertises it:

We always used Wright's silver creme and had fine results.
