BESSON 983 !!!

i have been playing a friends 983 for about a week.... i love it...i heard that pat had some stuff done to his to make them even better....any one know what he did???

and i also heard that at one point besson changed the lead pipe to a longer lead pipe than the first few batches...any one know how long ago they made the switch...? ... id like to get a newer one with the longer leadpipe!!!

Well going from frist hand conversations I have had with Pat Sheridan, he plays on a regular 983...he has told me that there is nothing special about it, except of course you have to take into account he is the one who helped Besson design the horn in the first place. Tha is just what I remember him saying, but perhaps this has changed recently.

Don't know about the leadpipe, but one favor you can do yourself when you get a horn is to have a repairman check the valve alignment for you, sometimes they can be way out of alignment even new horns.

Well I am glad to see that I wasn't going crazy. I think it is pretty incredible, in this day of "tweaking" and "customizing" that someone as outstanding as Pat Sheridan uses something straight off the assembly line.
