(Gophers! Here's your chance to catch a full-fledged Yid Vicious Party!)

NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
Verily will Yid Vicious bring the bulgars to the Twin Cities for a summer weekend of steamy klezmer madness. This will be the Madison band’s third foray to Minnesota in living memory. Yid Vicious looks forward to venturing northward once again and hopes their antics will be enjoyed by discerning Minneapolis audiences.
Yid Vicious has been entertaining, dancifying and occasionally baffling audiences throughout the Midwest for one and a half decades with their unique take on the traditional Yiddish music of Eastern Europe and the Ukraine as it was transplanted to America. Neither a rock band nor a strictly acoustic folk ensemble but with elements of both, Yid Vicious strives to explore the diversity and excitement inherent in such a diasporic music.
And really, what better way to celebrate Bastille Day than by enjoying peppy, celebratory klezmer? What better way to cast off the oppressive monarchy of boredom, or something, than with a people’s uprising of dancing and fun, or whatever? Feudalism: no! Freylekhs: yes!

"Few bands, regardless of genre, make music as celebratory as Yid Vicious...Yid Vicious flavors Eastern European and Russian Jewish musical traditions with contemporary spices and serves it to the masses."

"truly trippy…a surf guitarist straight out of The Ventures and a Theremin player making those eerie electric wooooooing sounds you hear in 1950’s space alien movies...a marvelous moment, yet another reason why I love live music. The pleasures are visceral, surprising and life affirming."
