Thanks for the recommendation!

This clip of the Alpine Symphony is astonishing. About 15 seconds in is some wonderful trombone playing.

I know there are a few folks who are resisting the urge to increase their download bandwidth abilities, but instant access to content like this makes high speed internet worthwhile.

Oh, BTW, Bruckner No. 8. Do want.

Throwing one more "must listen" in the mix:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT6yuyULvDs

Johann Sebastian Bach: Chorale Prelude "Komm, Gott, Schöpfer, Heiliger Geist" (Orchestration by Arnold Schoenberg) / Peter Eötvös, conductor

It's a Bach transcription. By Schoenberg. Awesome.

The Hilgers Kaiser BBb (?) in Bruckner 8 is impressive in sight and sound!

WOW  The clip with Bruckner 9 is great! That must be Alexander von Puttkamer on tuba. What a sound! Love the Alpine clip as well. Thanks for pointing this out.

There are some real great extracts there. I must listen to some complete when have the time! has anyone tried, can one download the videos from the BPO site, or just watch online?

Watching the extracts, a couple of good tuba views in Prokofiev 5 and Bartok Concerto for Orchestra. Looks like a B&S F (PT-15?) played for the latter.

This is embarrassing!

I wrote the BPO and got a mail with a code.

This morning I finally found time to hear the free concert. I wanted to hear the Bartok Concerto for Orchestra.

And then I cannot find out how to apply the code for the free listening. It is likely I am overlooking the obvious, but then my well-known eye problems demand me knowing where to look, if I shall find things. And light text on dark background is hard on eyes anyway.

Listening to the excerpts alone is great, but I still would like to watch that full Concerto. Alone knowing how the BPO solves the Bnat to F gliss would be interesting.
