Where did that come from? I can't find it on the current Nike website.

You're assuming that I buy Nike in the first place (or, at least, consider them buyable).

Seems like Nike is making some rather controversial ads for their kids division.

Re: for your back to school shopping information...
I'm reasonably sure this ad is a fake, just like the one about your son being a ballet dancer (which looks virtually identical and wasn't created by Nike at all).
I've sent an email to Nike for clarification and I'll share their response (or lack thereof) here. Until then, I wouldn't blame the company or boycott their products for something that's very likely out of their control. Presumption of guilt, especially when the presumption is directed at a "big, evil corporation," is becoming way too prevalent in our society. Think for yourselves, folks!
This was in the December, 2008 issue of CMYK magazine...they issued an apology for printing it and disclosed that it was, in fact, not a Nike ad but rather created by a student at a school in Miami.I've sent an email to Nike for clarification and I'll share their response (or lack thereof) here. Thanks for the clarification! It is amazing how well those are made. This was in the December, 2008 issue of CMYK magazine...they issued an apology for printing it and disclosed that it was, in fact, not a Nike ad but rather created by a student at a school in Miami.

Actually, look at it a different way: a fundamental of band (audition for chair seating excepted, and which is supposed to be about encouraging each member to do his best and work at being better) is about teamwork, not necessarily competition. The reason "noone wins" is because we all get there together. Much better concept.

UPDATE:
Finally got a response from Nike. It reads:
Finally got a response from Nike. It reads:
Nike wrote:Hello Todd,
We appreciate you writing into us with your question on a fake Nike ad. I would be glad to look into this for you.
I sent your email over to our Nike research team and they were able to confirm that this is not an official Nike ad that was placed in CMYK magazine. They were not able to pinpoint what company created the ad though.
This should answer your question. If you have any further questions, please reply to this email. I am always happy to help.
Have a great day!
