Re: Coke Bottle Collectors?
I think they would be worth more cleaned and filled with Bombay Sapphire.

At one time I had some odd soda bottles; Nehi from 1935 and some of the older Mountain Dew "it'll tickle your innards" and wavy Squrit bottles. I suppose someone might have paid a bit more than the returnable value on them, but they got lost/broken along the way. It would be a very small, select market that might be interested in your stuff. Could get enough for a couple boxes of skeet shells, I would expect. Then use small cans of tomato juice...at a distance.

It doesn't look very lucrative, Schlep. This closed auction only netted a little less than $4 for the six bottles AND the case. The others I saw on active 'buy-it-now' auctions ranged from $4 to $30... all currently unsold.

Back in the 60's... Marathon gas stations gave away while milk-glass 'Grog' cups (remember the B. C. character?) with a fill-up. They also sold a pitcher and cereal bowls to go with them. I thought those cups were really cool so a few years ago I scrounged rummage and garage sales and bought all of them I could. I have several boxes full of the cups.... must have all of them because I haven't seen any lately. Practically worthless... not even worth the 25 or 50 cents I gave for most of them.schlepporello wrote:Yeah, I loved that bid. $3.75 to win and $11.96 to ship. That's the kind of bids I've been winning lately. I'd be happier with what this seller had because his six-pack was the more durable plastic. Mine are the chipboard type and I'm afraid they'll fall apart if I touch them. They've sat in my garage for over 20 years.
Same is true with the 1989 Ripkin 'error' baseball cards. They were going for $100 each when they first hit the market. You can find 'em on Ebay for $1 now. Guess who has maybe 30 or them? Duh!
