I have an older satin silver plated sousaphone, which has schmutzed up many a white shirt. Any suggestions on things that you have done to protect clothing from tarnish rubbing off?
I find that even when I polish the horn, that black stuff rubs off on the shirt!

Seriously though.... I've NEVER seen a silver finish that didn't harbor some bit of tarnish.

When I was in the army we had satin silver souzies and had to be polished regularly, of course. After I use the silver polish, I would wash it thoroughly and use clean white or light colored towels to completely dry it and let it sit over night. Next day using dry white towels, I wipe it down thoroughly again. Worked for me--never got schmutzed.
