Can I have your Holton and Yamaha?
(OK, at least just your cats then?)
I will be sure to have them medically sterilized. The tubas, too.
A good friend of mine who teaches in central NJ got sick back in June. He went to the doctor, saying he was pretty sure it wasn't the flu. The doctor said it was, and did a test to confirm...swine flu. He was fine 3 days later.
Lots and lots of people (tens of thousands) die from influenza every year. I really don't think swine flu is any different.
Nevertheless, I *do* work in a public school, so I think I'll be getting flu shots this year...

I don't worry much about diseases other than just to take ordinary precaution like washing my hands a couple of times a day. Sorry, Bloke... but I still pick my nose and rub my eyes!
I can run a large screwdriver THROUGH my hand (as I did two weeks ago) and heal in a week. I get burned in the shop almost every day on something. I DO wear Nitrile exam gloves whenever I'm in the shop but only because I got tired of all of the oils, greases, and schmutz getting under my nails and ground into my hands.
I've NEVER taken an antibiotic that I can remember. I even had a staph infection on my elbow about a year ago that took care of itself without intervention... other than a doctor just confirming what it was.
Yeah... I'll admit that I usually get a snotty cold once a year or so... and I've had a few bouts with what was probably flu. I don't know if I am just 'lucky'... or if being allowed to be a kid 55 years ago had anything to do with it. But... I have a great immune system. Parents.... let your kids run around barefoot. Let 'em dig in the dirt. Let 'em (MAKE) them go play outside.

Tempted to make a comment about Stargate SG-1 and Goa'uld symbiotes, but I'm unsure of the fan base on the forum.
Maybe you should have been outside playing in the dirt instead of watching so much TV!

We lived next to a woods with trails, a creek (flatrock creek), and a big hill (mini-mountain) behind it. We did in fact play in the dirt building roads for the plastic army vehicles and men. Rode bikes on the trails, shot our crappy BB guns and actually hit a bird by sheer luck once in a while. The creek had a lot of shale rocks under which a crawdad could be found a small percentage of the time. Climbed the trees. And engaged in the occasional fist fight -- part of bygone chivalry.
But we most definitely got inside to the TV to watch the original Star Trek.
