Main Slide Trigger - MW 551

Post by JCalkin »

I have a student who needs to get a main tuning slide trigger installed on his Meinl-Weston 551. We are located in Northeastern Nebraska, and I was wondering where the closest repair/custom shop would be where such work could be done.

I know the shop at WWBW could handle it, but I was wondering if there was anything closer. Thanks.

If you're willing to consider drive of 5+ hours into Iowa, Merlin Grady in Waterloo, IA does great work and could handle this without any trouble. He's a straight shot across Iowa from you right off of Highway 20. Grady Musical Instrument Service is the name of his shop. He's a trombone specialist, if that means anything to you.

Lee Stofer is also in Iowa, but getting to his shop would be more like 8 hours from Wayne.

I'm sure the Band Instrument Repair program at Western Iowa Tech might...
it'd be a fun project!
I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...
