Know any good polkas?

Post by tubaben »

Hi Tubenet,

This Saturday, I will be hosting the 2nd annual Octubafest celebration at UNI. We're go to play some polkas, eat good German food, and drink delicious Octoberfest beer. I was wondering if anyone frequenting these boards had any good arrangements of Polkas or other Germanesque music arrangements for tuba quartet or tuba ensemble. I should be able to pull quite a few from the UNITUBA library, but we could use a few more. If anyone has a PDF or other way to send an arrangement electronically, then we will certainly toast your good health at the celebration.

Prost!

Here is a topical "Oldie but Goodie" - you can get the sheet music for free!

The Helicon Polka!

click the "view this item" to see the PDF. I think there is also a band arrangement of this song, but I lost the URL

Just a thought, brother, but you may get more responses if you ask "who has arrangements that are available for purchase?" Anyone that takes the time to arrange a piece of music would likely appreciate being compensated for it. And yes, there are arrangements available. My group is making some good money playing four-part tuba gigs. Good luck to you.

and, maybe a little more advanced planning...
How about "Mr Froggy Went A-Courtin" (and he left all the tubas in his band to us, HEY!)
