Inappropriate and juvenile game ads

When I go to that URL posted by 'LJV', I don't see an ad... other than the music or CD ad that's connected with TubeNet directly. Then I remembered that I use a HOSTS file to block inappropriate stuff. So I closed my browser (FF), rem'd out my HOST file, and went back to the that URL 'LJV' posted. NOW, I see an extra ad down the right side below one of the sponsor's for some sort of game. It's not that bad. I tried to get a link for that ad by hovering over it, there's no link available. Hmmm?

Oh!! I don't get a link for that ad because it's a script using Adobe Flash Player. Going to turn my HOSTS file back on.

I believe the default settings for the later versions of Internet Explorer will block ALL of these ads. I never see them. The only ads I see are the sponser ads at the top (Yes sponsers, you are getting through), and the ads for recordings from amazon.com. Sponsers will be gratified to know that, without the junk, their ads stand out.

The ads shown by the OP are not unique to TN. They are repeated ad nauseam on Yahoo pages also. My objections are about plasticified aesthetics. The study body in another current thread at least came out more natural.

I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus - I haven't seen those ads in a couple of years. I used to feel like a perv when I was looking at TubeNet with IE and there were all those suggestive ads. Annoying.

I just got rid of some ads that were appearing. If you are using IE, right click on the ad and view the properties. Note the URL. For example: yada.yada.doubleclick.net/yada/yada.

Go to the Tools menu of IE (you might have to press the Alt key).
Go to Internet Options => Security => Restricted Sites.
Click the Sites button and enter *.doubleclick.net into the text box.
Then click the Add button, and whatever OK buttons you need to click to finish up. The next time you refresh the browser, the ads from the offending URL should be gone. Note that there is more than one URL sending ads, so you'll have to do this more than once. You can also add sites that you want to prevent dropping cookies onto your computer.
